Planting Our School Garden

Today we planted radishes in our school garden. The radish seeds are very tiny. We sprinkled seeds on top, and then we got a handful of soil to sprinkle on top of that. Next we watered our seeds. The radishes take 29 days to grow, so they will be ready at the end of May.

What great gardeners you all are! Isnt it fun to plant your own vegetables? I think it's exciting to watch them grow! We will be planting snow peas at our house this weekend :o)

You all looked like you were having so much fun planting your radishes! Isn't it fun watching them grow? They should be ready to eat soon - and they will taste extra good because you grew them yourselves.

Are the radishes ready yet? Have you tried them?

I know this video was from last year but this is one of my favorites. I am so excited that my child not only gets an incredible teacher who is dedicated to her students but he gets to learn, hands on, real life skills that will help him to grow into a productive, contributing member of society....inch by inch. This is a wonderful example of taking education outside of the classroom walls and teaching the children to think "outside of the box"! Way to Go Atwood!!! :)
