Polar Bears

We did some polar bear research for homework. We had to find out if our whole family together weighs more than a male polar bear. A male polar bear can weigh 1,400 pounds. None of our families weighed that much!

Next we measured to find out if anyone in our family was close to the height of a male polar bear on 2 feet. He is 9-11 feet tall. None of our family members are even close to that tall!

Next we measured to see if a polar bear would fit in our bedroom. A male polar bear can be 10 feet long. Some of our bedrooms were big enough, and some were too small. Alanna's door was too small for a polar bear to fit through.
We found out that polar bears are HUGE!

Wow, I've learned so much about polar bears from your research and homework - they look so cute, but I wouldn't want to meet one - I think I might be scared. Even though a polar bear might fit in Emma's room - I hope I never see one in there! ~Emma's Mom
